May 24, 2026 Speech: Marco Aurélio Do not be afraid...I am your shield The Book of Genesis presents a narrative of historical events, but it is also characterized as a prophetic book. Adam and Eve rejected the truth of God's goodness, but He, in His infinite mercy, has put His plans into practice with the intention of restoring communion with humanity, lost because of unbelief. The first prophets received revelations from God that even they did not understand, but today, in the light of Scripture, in the light of Jesus who carries out the work of redemption, we can perceive that the book of Genesis tells not only the story of the people of Israel, but our story. In Genesis 15 we identify three actions of God towards man, which are: 1- He comes to meet us and reveals His love to us (Genesis 15:1) - through the Word, man connects to the love of God. At that time, God revealed himself to Abram, delivering him from the fear and doubts that afflicted him; 2- He hears us and comforts us (Genesis 15:2-7) - Abram expresses his fears to God and inquires about the promise that was taking so long to be fulfilled. In communion, Abram felt secure and believed in God to the point of becoming righteous and being called a friend; 3- He promises and fulfills (Genesis 15:8) – There God reveals himself not only as the author of faith, but as the guarantee and finisher of faith. While unbelief distances us from God, trust draws us closer to Him. Faith is produced in us by hearing the Word, therefore we cannot neglect the practice of this spiritual discipline. We need to bring to mind what gives us hope. The Word is God himself, and it sustains our faith. The Lord is knocking at your door today, He comes to meet you, listen to Him!
