How Duane Allman Taught Don Felder Slide Guitar. Don Joins the Eagles and Writes "Victim of Love"

Don started playing guitar at 10 years old and was self taught. He wound up working in a music store and one of his students was Tommy Petty who would later found Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Don also became friends with Duane Allman who taught him to play the slide guitar. In this video Don talks about how influenced and inspired he was by the Allman brothers. Don also talks about working in recording studios in New York writing jingles until Bernie Leadon suggested he move to LA. He played on sessions for the Bee Gees, Bob Seger, and then was invited to play slide on an an Eagles record. The next day he got a call from Glenn Frey who asked him to join the band. Don Felder was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum in 2016 for the Iconic Riff award for creating the music to "Hotel California".
