Glinka/Balakirev: The Lark

Glinka/Balakirev: The Lark Recording without sheet music:    • One of the most beautiful piano transcript...   The Skylark [Poem by Nestor Kukolnik, 1840] Translation provided by Alexei Kourbatov: https://allpoetry.com/poem/18272670-T... Who is singing in the sky, o'er the fields, I wonder? Trills, in one incessant stream, flow - and grow still louder! You can't see the skylark, though, while he warbles loudly for his sweetheart - he's her beau, greeting her so proudly. Carried by unwitting winds, charming songs will linger. If my loved one hears this song, she'll discern the singer! She'd recall my sweetest hopes - and pretend not hearing... then, she'd give a furtive sigh, silent yet endearing.
