GOV. MBAH UNVEILS DNA FORENSICS CENTRE IN ENUGU, DECLARES NO HIDING PLACE FOR CRIMINALS

The commissioning of the Centre for DNA Forensics and Criminal Investigation (CEDFOCI) at Godfrey Okoye University is a big boost to evidence-based criminal investigations in Enugu State. The new facility marks a new era in crime detection and justice delivery, Governor Peter Mbah said, warning that criminals now have “no hiding place” in Enugu State. The centre, located at the university’s main campus in Ugwuomu Nike, will offer advanced DNA profiling, forensic analysis, paternity testing, research and training, while equipping law enforcement agencies with scientific tools for investigations. As forensic science becomes increasingly central to modern policing, the facility will enhance the capacity of security agencies, improve the quality of evidence used in prosecutions and strengthen public confidence in the justice system.
