How (not) To Introduce a Superpower
YES this is a reupload, I messed up my own voice-over and made it sound… not that well… But, I do really hope you still get to enjoy the video and it only had a couple views (FOR WHICH I THANK YOU), so hopefully not too many people see it as repetition. Oh and besides that YES YES I know. Wanda to Scarlet Witch does have a logical reasoning her powers “SUDDENLY” increase so much but I’m still naming it as I felt that it was an okay example to use You know why? Cuz the moment a superpower is introduced, the story makes a promise. It tells the audience what this character can do, how dangerous they are, and what the rules of the world are. And if that promise is too big, the entire story starts to crack. Then you have Captain Marvel. Show impossible levels of power too early or too late and you get Quicksilver. So how do you do it right?
