Andre Tippett versus New York Jets-September 17, 1983
On three consecutive plays in the second half of the game against the New York Jets in Week #3 of the 1983 season, the New England Patriots future Hall of Fame linebacker Andre Tippett established himself as one of the premier players at his position. After a quarterback hurry forcing an incompletion he tips away a TD pass some 20-yards downfield, then finishes off the sequence with a drive-killing sack. These plays were cited to the Hall of Fame committee in 2008. and were a big factor in his eventual election. Now if we could just get the Patriots to retire his #56! No ownership of this material is claimed.
