The first leg of my motorcycle trip with the Africa Twin from Italy to Russia was unfortunately marred by dramatic events. Just as I approached the Russian border, I learned that Moscow was under attack by Ukrainian drones, which had struck the capital's refineries. I first crossed the Polish-Belarusian border, and then the Belarusian-Russian border in the Smolensk region.
