Self Drive Trip Penang to Kuala Kangsar & Lenggong, Perak – Part 1 | Food, History & Adventure

Welcome to the first part of our 3-day, 2-night family and friends holiday trip to Kuala Kangsar and Lenggong, Perak! 🚗🌿 In this video, we take you along for the journey, starting with an amazing breakfast stop at Boon Kee Restaurant in Simpang Ampat, where we enjoyed a delicious spread of nasi lemak with dishes like pork curry, salted fish sambal, soya sauce squid, and crispy fried chicken. Such a great start to the trip! From there, we hit the North-South Highway and made our way to Kuala Kangsar before heading towards Gerik and Lenggong. Our first sightseeing stop was the Muzium dan Galeri Arkeologi Lenggong, where we saw the ancient remains of Perak Man, a prehistoric caveman who lived in this area thousands of years ago. Fascinating! 🏛️ Next, we explored the beautiful Perigi Biru and Kampung Chepor area before having a delightful lunch at Sun Kong Restaurant in Kampung Ayer Kala. The highlight of the meal was the rare and tasty steamed ikan tenggalan, along with unique dishes like petai with intestines and venison stir-fried with ginger and scallions. After that, we checked into our cozy homestay in Lenggong for a well-deserved rest. In the evening, we strolled through Lenggong town and enjoyed dinner at Sin Hup Yik Restaurant, where we savored steamed ikan tapah, a local delicacy that's hard to find these days.
