Two Sides of a War. In this video, I visit the military cemeteries in Luxembourg—both the American and the German ones. The cemeteries were originally established during the winter battles and the Ardennes Offensive of 1944/45, when fierce fighting took place in Luxembourg, Belgium, and the border region between American and German troops. In the American cemetery, over 5,000 US soldiers, including General George S. Patton, have found their final resting place. Just a short distance away is the German war cemetery in Sandweiler.
