Lutter contre l’hépiale

Lettuce is attacked by a formidable pest: the stonefly. Know how to spot the symptoms! After planting, the first signs of damage are observed: lettuce wilts and declines: one might tend to think it's due to a lack of water. If the symptoms persist, it's because the roots of your vegetables are being eaten away. Clickworms, wireworms, and mole crickets are pests that attack roots. In this case, this isn't the case: consider the wolfworm (Pharmacis lupulina), a small caterpillar also called a stonefly. Hubert Fontaine explains how to spot it. The wolfworm also attacks plants such as irises and strawberries and doesn't stop causing damage until late autumn. This pest has natural predators, notably birds. Fern manure, garlic extract... If you have any techniques for getting rid of the ghost moth without using chemical pesticides, please share them in the comments.
