What happened to the directive from the court to build a second mosque in place of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya? Nothing has progressed in the past 6 years. And now, the Ayodhya Development Authority has rejected the map for that new mosque. On November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court delivered its final verdict on the Ram Temple. The orders stated that a Ram Temple would be built at the site of the Babri Masjid, and the Muslim side would be provided land to construct another mosque in lieu of the Babri Masjid. This land was allotted about 25 kilometers away from the Ayodhya Ram Temple, in Dhannipur village of Sohawal tehsil on the Faizabad Highway. There was already a mazar (shrine) present in this village. A proposal was passed to build the mosque on 5 acres of vacant land surrounding the mazar. As per the court’s orders, in August 2020, the then District Magistrate transferred the land to the Muslim side. The Muslim side also prepared a map. However, so far, that map has not received approval from the Ayodhya Development Authority. In fact, it has been rejected. What is the full story?
