She looked at Julia’s dark skin and told her to wash herself before touching her son. The girl remained calm and tried to explain that she was Mike’s girlfriend. But he stopped her. He told his mom that Julia was a new maid. He begged her to play along with his lie to give his mom time to like her. Julia thought it was ridiculous and insulting.
