Fans of the Audi R8s unique balance and performance might ask themselves, "does the already excellent super car even need an upgrade"? Well, after 13 years of production, the man from Del Audi says yes.... So let’s take a closer look at the new facelift version for 2019. Firstly and most noticeably, the grille is now much wider and flatter, with slits at the front a bit reminiscent of the new A1. Theres a new, wider front splitter, whilst an air outlet in the rear fascia forces air through an enormous diffuser & each side of the rear fascia, there are two humungous oval exhausts. Overall, the new R8 further cleverly emphasizes its width, even though the actual dimensions remain the same. In the engine compartment, the designers have moved the air filter to a new, three-part cover, available in either plastic or carbon fibre. Additionally, customers can now choose from three different exterior packages, which have various accents on the front splitter, sill strips and the diffuser. Also, only on request, Audi will paint the four-ring logo in a nice high-gloss black. The 2019 R8 has been fitted with a naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10, which in the Performance package will provide 612BHP and 580NM of torque. This makes the R8 well and truly on par with its flashy little Italian brother, the Lamborghini Huracan, although if power is all you care about then the Huracan comes in slightly pokier with 640 hp. In dynamic mode, the car will reach 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds with a top speed of 200mph plus. Fortunately for the mere mortal drivers amongst us, the braking distance of the R8 at 60mph has been reduced by almost two metres (five feet) & from 125 mph by four metres (16 feet).There are a few modifications to the chassis which provide even more stability & road handling as well as a tuned up dynamic steering package. The new facelift Audi R8 is one of the most amazing production vehicles on the road today. Its supermodel looks would grace any car catwalk, the sound of its engine hould be in an automotive porn movie & its handling is better than riding a champion show jumper, what more could you ever want....
