Disastro | Barcellona

The Catalan GP was scary for everyone, perhaps a little less so for the riders. Dovi explains why, when you're racing, the only thing that matters is getting back on track and doing so as quickly as possible, something that's difficult to understand from the outside. And then the accidents: are they due to the low-grip track, or perhaps the layout of the circuit? We also discussed this and, in general, everything there is to know about Sunday's nasty accidents and the resulting restarts. Fortunately, the weekend provided us with many other insights: Fabio Di Giannantonio winning with a mangled finger, Valentino Rossi attacking Ducati, and Aprilia limiting the damage, as well as a few tidbits about testing and those things you can only see by going out on the track. To close, Dovi gave us his take on Mugello, from that time he won with a nasty stomachache in 2017 to what it means to brake hard at San Donato: "The harder you put in, the harder you brake, but you can't do it more than five or six times." We'll be waiting for you again, as for the next episode, after the Italian GP at Mugello.
