The Shape and Function of Longsword Grips
Today we examine how the shape, size, and material of a sword grip influences how it can be used. We look at an original longsword from the Oakeshott Institute collection and four historically accurate reproductions to explore how grip size, taper, and riser location impact the function of the weapon. Check out this link to explore the longswords we offer: https://www.arms-n-armor.com/collecti... As always, our swords are entirely made by us at our shop in Minneapolis, MN out of 6150 carbon steel, hardened and tempered to 50-52 Rockwell. Our swords and other weapons are made to look, feel, and function just like the historical originals on which they are based.
