Opie & Anthony - The Infamous Toothpick Artist Interview

Opie gets a note asking if they want to talk to Steven Backman who's a toothpick artist that was bumped from David Letterman. After a bit he joins them in studio. Opie wants to get in a pic with his sculpture of Biff but the guy wont let him because the Letterman people told him he can't show any pics of it if he ever wants to get onto the show. Opie is annoyed and mentions that his artwork can be seen on his website. At one point during the interview Jimmy, Anthony and Opie all escape the room leaving Ralphie May alone with the toothpick artist for an awkward moment. Everyone returns. Steven starts to get a bunch of calls to his phone asking for Ramone and other show references that he doesn't get. Anthony snatches a sculpture of his and runs off with it. The guy runs after him and catches up with Ant. The guy is pissed and wants to leave but he needs to get his ID and fill out paperwork with Master Po first. Po has a hidden mic as he talks to the guy. Steven says he wants to go outside to make a call, they figure he's trying to call his lawyer. The staff has been putting stickers and notes on his back. Opie sticks his head out the window wanting to drop mustard on him but hits the wrong guy and that guy is not happy. The toothpick guy is on his way back up. He says he just needed some fresh air. Opie distracts him for a second and the poker chips go flying at the guy and the guy leaves. (2-13-07)
