Exploring The Largest Man-made Island In Maldives - Hulhumale! 🌴✈️🏖

In this video, we are taking you to Hulhumale, Maldives - the largest man made island to have a look, and walking around there, to have a day tour and show you around. Everyone wants to have a holiday in Maldives, because of their stunning luxurious resorts and hotels. But have you ever wonder and explore how the local live their life, and what are the local islands like, such as Hulhumale. Hulhumale is the large man made island in Maldives so far, it's completed in 2004, by pumping the sand from the ocean floor, and it's currently housing 50,000 population, and it aims to build up the population to 250,000 by 2050. You can go to Hulhumale either by ferry or by car, or a taxi. We chose to get there by ferry which costs you only USD $0.60 one way, and it took 20 mins to get there. We took the ferry from Seahouse ferry terminal. If you go by taxi, it will cost you USD $5.00, which is still relatively cheap. When sitting on the ferry, I had this sudden thought, and sad feeling for the local people, whose life is heavily depends on the tourism, and it was very badly affected by the covid 19 pandemic. Hulhumale looks very nice, clean, and quiet, not so crowded like Male city. When walking through the park land, it’s hard to imagine this is an artificial man-made island which once was under the water. We had a quick lunch at an Indian restaurant, which was recommended by the hotel staff, but it was a bit disappointing, not very impressive. We did not explore if there are any other nicer restaurants there. The central shopping mall is very small, I literally did not believe it's a shopping mall. But we did not go upstairs to have a look, simply it was so quiet, and it did not look like a shopping mall. We mostly enjoyed the time walking along the beach, the water was warm, clean, and the views are so beautiful. The fruit here is expensive. We bought 3 bananas and 2 mangos and they cost us USD $12.00, which was $15 - $17 Australian dollars at that time. In Australia, they may only cost us $6 max. I was wondering how the local people can afford these fruit, whose monthly wages was only $800 - $1000. Maldives is such a beautiful country, the people here are nice and friendly, besides the pricy bananas and mangos, we had a beautiful day walking around Hulhumale, and enjoyed the day.
