Cumbres & Toltec #484 - Crusaders of Cumbres
Being the highest and longest operating tourist railroad in the United States, the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad would definetly be considered to be world famous with its beautiful scenery. This 64-mile section of the former D&RGW's San Juan Extension has always been a fan favorite among your common tourist and photographers. Amazing highlights along this railroad include Cascade Trestle, Phantom Curve, the Toltec Gorge, Cumbres Pass at 10,015 feet above sea level, and so much more. We were very delighted to return to this amazing railroad once again to document as much as possible between Chama, New Mexico, and Los Pinos, Colorado. In this production, you get to see K-36 #484 working hard up the steep hill of the San Juans. #484 is still an operational coal burner and hopefully continues to do so. So please, sit back, relax, and enjoy this production of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad! Please check out my friends who came out here to chase this amazing railroad! @TrainChamber @keeperofsteamstudios6654 Chapters: 0:00 - Intro 0:28 - Chama 4:31 - Departing Chama 5:21 - Juke's Tree 6:03 - Highway #17 Grade Crossing 6:41 - Milepost 342 7:13 - Lake Lobato 7:53 - Dalton 8:29 - Highway #17 Grade Crossing 9:30 - Stateline Curve 10:54 - Cresco 11:55 - Milepost 334 12:36 - Coxo 13:47 - Windy Point 14:20 - Cumbres Pass 15:59 - Apache 17:10 - Los Pinos 18:07 - Apache Phone Booth 18:47 - Milepost 329 19:56 - Tanglefoot Curve 21:13 - Cumbres Pass 22:31 - Coxo 23:05 - Perry's Pond 23:26 - Cresco 24:10 - S-Curve 24:53 - Highway #17 Grade Crossing 25:20 - Dalton 25:54 - Chama 26:32 - Chama Wye 27:47 - Credits DISCLAIMER: This was all filmed over multiple days, it is not possible to chase the train like this in one day.
