Easy Guitar Lesson: Notes by the Number
Did you notice my Big Mistake? (Hint: How many black keys are there in an octave?) Five black keys, of course: Minor 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th and Tri-tone. Tri-tone comes between the perfect 4th and 5th and does NOT have a number name. This video explains the numbers that musicians use when talking about individual notes in major scales, chromatic scales, and within chords.
