This time, we delve into the mysteries of the Nagaya-mon (long gatehouse) of the Harayama Matsumoto family, a historical building still standing in Higashiterayama-cho, Wakaba-ku, Chiba City. This gate is of a rare size, measuring approximately 17.3m in length and 5.5m in depth (9.5 ken x 3 ken). Originally located deep in Kimitsu, in a harsh environment where even digging wells yielded no water, it was acquired by the current owner, Norio Kamiya (85), at the age of 40. He then tenaciously relocated it to its current location, 42km away. Why did he undertake the enormous expense and effort to relocate this gate? What is Mr. Kamiya's true profession? This is a documentary that goes beyond simply relocating an old house, exploring the "work" and "life" of an artist. The latter half of the video also includes works of "iron-painted copper decoration" imbued with Mr. Kamiya's soul. Please watch until the end.
