Sheikh Chilli Tomb || शेख़ चिल्ली का मक़बरा || "Taj Mahal of Haryana" Kurukshetra, Haryana, India. This tomb belongs to Sheikh Chilli who was a scholar and a teacher to Dara Shikoh, eldest son of the fifth Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. There are two tombs, a madarsa, a beautiful garden and a small archaeological museum. A second tomb is dedicated to Sheikh Chilli's wife. Sheikh Chilli's tomb has an octagonal figure, constructed from buff sandstone and has a pearl shaped marble dome that sits on its top like a crown. His wife's tomb is made from red sandstone, has a marble dome and carved floral designs. It is also believed to be similar to Taj Mahal in certain aspects. The museum houses some seals, terracotta sculptures, ornaments, swords, etc. from various kingdoms that existed between first and seventh centuries. Most of the structures in this complex have a substantial touch of Persian architecture. The most comforting fact about Sheikh Chilli's tomb is that it's not too crowded. Visitors can see everything with peace, sit comfortably, have discussions and click pictures. The area near the main tomb offers a very good view and hence, some people even prefer to sit here for a little longer to relax
