Stefano Battaglia - Musica Dell'Abside
Stefano Battaglia "Il Cerchio Interno" Symphonia Odyssey 1999 SYO 99701 Il Cerchio Interno Danza Settima Lacrima Maggio Lapsit Exillis Prima Luce Requiem Et Danse Pour Nusrat Fateh Ali Kahn Novecentonovantanove Musica Dell'Abside Stefano Battaglia: piano. With the Inner Circle Stefano Battaglia celebrates his love for the piano and especially for improvisation. Since childhood, the Milanese pianist , improvisation marks the time of seeking contact with the most secret of the soul, with the deepest feelings ; through improvisation little Stefano starts to " really look " inside the music of itself , creating moments of freedom that constitute , for him, the most rewarding aspect . Hence the title and the image of the " inner circle " , which is the only plan as the foundation of his musical experience but at the same time also its individual essence : the circle has no beginning and no end , did not even have a direction and orientation just like the improvisations of Battle . The research is aimed at all to match the essence and personality through music and improvisation solo is the main tool to achieve this end , due to its expressive power and freedom intrinsic to it . The disc was recorded in the Parish of St. Giulia , whose circular apse married to perfection the feeling - in turn circular - of sound by the pianist . The songs , the choice of such securities is also - for the most part - improvised , follow each other in a fluid and spontaneous , some of them take up existing songs in the repertoire of Battle ( Dance Seventh , Tear, Requiem et Danse pour Nusrat Fateh ), but on which the improvisation spreads its aura of renewal . Other tracks are the result of the emotional experiences of the pianist, inspired by the magical atmosphere of the apse and the harmony of the Steinway sound it sounded. The personal experience of Battle has a fundamental role : First Light, Novecentonovantanove , Music and apse are an act of love and gratitude for his daughter Matilda , respectively , to Charlie Parker - whose music " started " Battle at the Jazz - and the music of the seventeenth century. This work of profound and deep research well shines thanks to the fluidity of the sound, the registration of which has been produced with the most advanced technology of the moment, ie with 24bit A / D conversion via the PRISMSOUND AD124 .
