Rasim Öztekin married Zeynep Aslıhan İşbay in 1977. In 1987, his daughter Pelin Öztekin, who is also an actress, was born. Rasim Öztekin's second marriage was to his former school friend, journalist Esra Kazancıbaşı. In 2016, Rasim Öztekin experienced a great moment of pride. He became the 5th owner of the traditional Turkish theatrical hat (Kavuk), passed down from İsmail Dümbüllü to Münir Özkul, and from Münir Özkul to Ferhan Şensoy. However, due to health problems, he handed over the "Kavuk" (traditional Turkish theatrical hat) to Şevket Çoruh in 2020. Rasim Öztekin was hospitalized on March 8, 2021, due to a heart attack. He passed away at the age of 62. The first ceremony for the master actor was held at the Ses Theatre. Then his funeral procession was taken to Zincirlikuyu Mosque. His wife and daughter received condolences. Many politicians, as well as Şevket Çoruh, Şoray Uzun, Derya Baykal, and Berham Şimşek, were present at the funeral.
