I wanted to capture the mythic image of the final holy warrior, a paladin roaming a desolate world where even the angels have abandoned hope. This song is my way of exploring what happens after the so-called end of all things, when faith has failed and the sacred order has crumbled. The imagery of a lone paladin wandering a cursed wasteland struck me as both tragic and heroic. It reflects the feeling of carrying on when all symbols of hope and guidance have vanished, a powerful metaphor for personal and collective trials. The paladin’s journey is an allegory for anyone who has ever felt like the last defender of something precious, fighting on even when it seems futile. Inspired by the dark, heavy sound of Black Sabbath, I aimed to evoke a sense of doom and grandeur. The riff-driven, shadowy style serves as the perfect backdrop for a tale of perseverance and existential dread. The song is not just about defeat but the grim courage to walk alone, to protect the last spark of righteousness in a world overcome by shadow.
