🚜 Episode 23 – Millet Harvest & A Difficult Decision 🌾 Back on Farming Simulator 25 and this episode is all about harvesting our Millet fields and making some important decisions about the future crop rotation. 🌾 Millet Harvest Time Three Millet fields are ready to harvest. Total Yield: 👉 56,000 Litres of Millet Every litre is sent straight to the Grain Mill where it will be turned into valuable Millet Groats. 🌾 Straw Baling Once harvesting is complete: 👉 32 Straw Bales are produced and stored for winter when prices reach their peak. Another valuable income source waiting for the right moment to sell. 📑 Contract Work To keep the cash flowing we also complete: 2 Baling Contracts 1 Mowing Contract A welcome boost to the farm income while our own fields are between harvests. 🤔 The Crop Rotation Problem With the Millet harvest complete, all three fields move to the next crops in the crop rotation plan. The problem? The next crops are: Cotton Lavender Green Bean While Green Beans are manageable, Cotton and Lavender bring a much bigger issue... 🚜 Harvest equipment costing well over €450,000 At this stage of the challenge, that simply isn't realistic. 🌾 A Temporary Solution Rather than leave the fields empty, a decision has been made. All three fields are sown with: 👉 Winter Barley The plan is simple: ✅ If suitable equipment appears on the second-hand market before spring sowing ends, the barley will be removed and the planned crop rotation will continue. ❌ If the equipment cannot be purchased, the barley remains and is harvested normally. This approach keeps the fields productive while still giving us the opportunity to follow the crop rotation if the right machinery becomes available. 🚜 Fields Ready For Maximum Yield All three fields have been: ✅ Fully Prepared ✅ Sown ✅ Fertilised ✅ Rolled Everything is set up for maximum yield next season. 🎯 The Long-Term Plan As more fields reach Cotton, Lavender and other specialist crops in the rotation, the same challenge will appear again. Rather than leave fields empty waiting for expensive machinery, replacement crops will be used until the required equipment becomes affordable.
