The sailing itself went smoothly, thanks to Mr. Y. However, I was incredibly embarrassed when I couldn't handle the ropes properly when mooring the yacht in Tadotsu, Kagawa Prefecture. The moment was so embarrassing that there's no video. (Or rather, I didn't have the presence of mind to take videos or photos.) Unlike what I learned in textbooks and classes, we were docking after a long, tiring voyage. My brain was in a dangerous state, on the verge of freezing like a computer. It was my first time at this port, the rope handling was the opposite of what I learned in class (obviously, because we were facing each other, the loops were facing the opposite direction), and the left and right were reversed, plus the rope was thick and incredibly long, and I didn't know where to put the excess rope in the mooring knot... I felt like crying. I, a middle-aged man, stood frozen on the quay. Therefore, that night I practiced rope handling using plastic bottles as bollards.
