"Colombia no necesita que nadie diga si aceptó o no el resultado de unas elecciones"

Just two days before the second round of the presidential election in Colombia, scheduled for June 21, the main state oversight bodies and mayors of the country's major cities issued an unprecedented call to guarantee respect for the election results and peace during the elections. For their part, the Attorney General's Office and the Comptroller General's Office closed ranks in defense of the institutions, demanding respect for the popular will expressed at the polls, where more than 41 million Colombians are eligible to vote. The Attorney General was emphatic in stating: "Colombia doesn't need anyone to say whether or not they accepted the election results; it is the people who go to the polls, it is the people who vote, and it is the authority of the National Electoral Council that determines whether the elections were conducted properly or not."
