Incels, short for involuntary celibacy, are heterosexual men who have formed their identity around the fact that they can't have sex with women because they don't want them. They thrive on forums and have committed various massacres in America and, recently, in Europe. Valeria Montebello, a journalist, has studied the phenomenon of Italian incels and shared her experience with us. She lives in Rome, where she studied philosophy. A journalist, she writes about lifestyle for Rivista Studio, Il Foglio, L'Officiel, and others. She works as a trend hunter for an advertising agency.
