Federal Premium Hammer Down 30-30 Ammo Test Water Jugs

August 3, 2025 we’re at camp in the southern Adirondacks in central NY State. I’m shooting a Henry 30-30 loaded with Federal Premium Hammer Down 150 grain. I’m told this is a bonded bullet and after shooting the water jugs I believe it. 145 grains of retained weight with excellent expansion. I keep calling it Federal Fusion by mistake…. oh well. This would be an excellent deer round. This is private property with a safe backdrop. Today was a great day. Started out doing an archery shoot with my son in Madison, NY. Then drove up to camp and did some weed whacking. Lunch was some Hoffman hotdogs over the fire topped with original Gene’s Chili Hut chili made by cousin Dave!
