As well as the South Devon Railway gala this weekend    • SOUTH DEVON WINTER STEAM GALA! ‘Henbury’ F...   hot on the heels of the Winter Diesel Gala    • Severn Valley Railway WINTER DIESEL DAY! |...   we return to the Severn Valley Railway today for their Winter Steam Gala featuring: GWR Auto Tank 1450 – returning after overhaul GWR Pannier Tank 7714 LMS Stanier Mogul 13268 BR Standard 75069 GWR 4930 ‘Hagley Hall’ GWR 7812 ‘Erlestoke Manor’ Saturday featured an intensive timetable with 11 departures from each end of the line, including 1450 making its return to traffic after providing steam heat at the diesel gala, double-heading with 7714. The cold weather made for some particularly atmospheric steam effects observed upon departures from Bridgnorth. Conditions were suitably cold and very misty to begin with, and with the uncertainty around the whereabouts of this weekend’s forecasted snowfall and yellow weather warnings, we came away after the BR Standard departed Kidderminster to get home before any bad weather set in. | 04.01.2025 I hope you enjoy this video and thank you for watching!
