Removing The Generator & Clutch From A Triumph T140V Bonneville | Clutch Drum Tool Failure | 12 In this episode I remove the generator and remove most of the clutch from my 1975 Triumph Bonneville T140V. #ad Here's what we used in this video (affiliate links). The generator in a T140V Triumph Bonneville is quite simple. The stator is held on by 3 special studs, 2 of which also hold the primary cover. Once they are undone the stator comes off quite easily. Once this is off, the magnet that is at the centre of the system needs to be removed from the end of the crankshaft. Sometimes you need a puller to do this, but most times a little leverage frees it. Which was happened for me with this one. I then removed the clutch pressure plate screws and springs before removing the plate itself. I then removed the clutch plates which were quite stuck. The came out in 2 and 3s stuck together. Once I got them out I wanted to remove the central clutch drum. To do this requires a special tool that screws into the centre of the drum, the it is pulled out by screwing a bolt into the centre of the tool. Unfortunately, probably because I didn't have the tool screwed in far enough, the tool failed. The threads on the end of the tool stripped off. I will need to buy a new tool before I can continue with the strip down. This will have to wait for the next video.
