Fierce and Fearless: Guarding Namdapha National Park

Green Hub Fellow: Mukrang Timung (Batch 2023 - 2024) Organisation: Society for Education and Environmental Development (SEED) & Namdapha Tiger Reserve | Green Hub (NEN - DFF Initiative) This film features the life of women forest guards of Namdapha, Arunachal, focusing on their day-to-day duties. It also covers their challenges along with hardships. Namdapha has an altitudinal variation from 200-4500m and is the northernmost tropical rainforest of the world, The female guards have a segment called the Special Tiger Protection Force (STPF) that is featured in the film. The national park is spread across 1985 sq. km, yet only 311 sq. km have been penetrated till now. The film captures the complications during the guarding of the entire place and the communication difficulties between the teams and their coordination in the area. Green Hub Project is a video fellowship that empowers and engages youth especially from indigenous and marginalized communities and disadvantaged backgrounds in conservation action and social change.
