Montessori Red Rods
There are ten Red Rods, all different sizes, ranging from 10cm to 1m in length. In this presentation, Mia watches how to build the Red Rod stair, from the shortest rod to the longest rod. As a control of error at the end, the shortest rod is taken to make sure all the other rods get longer in uniform steps. The Montessori Red Rods are used to help the child discriminate lengths and tell the difference in sizes. It also introduces the child to mathematical concepts.
