A Wild Ride to 11th at Megavalanche 2025

Chaotic doesn’t even come close. Glacier conditions were crazy, and with a poor front row position meaning I came out of the first corner in 12th it was always going to be tough from there. Managed to work all the way back to 6th by the start of the uphill sections in the middle of the race, but having done absolutely no endurance training at all, I was ticked off by so many riders and went all the way back to 14th place. With some wild pacing movement he’s in the lower downhill sections I managed to work my way back to 11th, including a 3 way battle for 11th that went all the way to the line, which I managed to win. One year I’ll actually train for this race (I say that every year haha). For people wondering why don’t I train for it, I’m far too busy with downhill racing and coaching, as well as running the race team, to spend the many hours needed to do the necessary endurance training for an event like this.
