Solve Truss Problem in SOLIDWORKS 2024 | Truss Analysis with Axial Forces

In this tutorial, I will show you step-by-step how to solve a truss problem using SOLIDWORKS Simulation 2024. We’ll set up the geometry, apply supports and loads, run a static analysis, and then extract axial forces in each truss member. The results from SOLIDWORKS are compared with textbook hand calculations, showing very close agreement. Small differences (1–2 lb) are due to solver rounding and are perfectly acceptable. What you’ll learn in this video: How to set up correct support conditions (pin & roller) How to apply forces at joints How to run a static study and interpret axial force results This video is ideal for engineering students, mechanical designers, and anyone learning structural analysis in SOLIDWORKS.
