Proper Parametric Involute Bevel Gear Modeling (SW tutorial)
Yo, I've not been able to find any straightforward ressource about involute bevel gear modeling. So I went take a look at my engineering handbooks and found the equations, made a model on solidworks under Tregold's approximation (which suits perfectly any usual gear modeling) and made a little test assembly. The gears mate perfectly and all the "reasonable" gear combinations work flawlessly (you can make the model crash if you put some fancy parameters of course, but it's pretty stable). I've decided to make a video tutorial for any person who's interested in designing their own bevel gears (solidworks tool box ones are not involute and limited to 90° shaft angle only).
