SWIMMING PIGS & PEARL ISLAND Beach Escape - Allure of the Seas Excursion | NASSAU, BAHAMAS

It's a port day aboard the Allure of the Seas in Nassau, Bahamas! Join us for our first Royal Caribbean facilitated excursion: "Swimming Pigs & Pearl Island Beach Escape!" --- Last week's video - Allure of the Seas Ship Tour:    • Ship Tour of the ALLURE OF THE SEAS! | Exp...   --- On our first port stop aboard Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas, we made our way into port at Nassau, Bahamas. While we normally prefer to go off and do our own thing on port days, we opted to try out the "Swimming Pigs & Pearl Island Beach Escape" excursion. We started the day with breakfast at Park Cafe and enjoyed a bagel and some coffee. We then made our way to Studio B to wait for the excursion group to gather before making the trip off the gangway to the port and boarding a ferry to Pearl Island. Once we arrived to Pearl Island, we were greeted with beautiful sights and crystal clear water. With only an hour and a half before we were to be shuttled to Pigs Beach, we opted to explore the island to get a lay of the land. After making our way to take in the beautiful views from the lighthouse, we meandered along the snake-like island to check out the different seating areas, bars, and the main swimming beach. Drinks are not included in your excursion booking, so do plan to use cash at the "cafeteria" bar by the lighthouse, and cash/card at the main bar by the swimming area. On that note, also be sure to bring water or plan to pay $3 per bottle. After getting a lay of the land, the ferry boat picked us up and shuttled us across the way to Pigs Beach to swim with and feed the pigs! Probably one of the more unique/bizarre yet oddly entertaining things we've done on this channel. After spending time with the swimming pigs, we made our way back to the island for lunch. The lunch that is included with your fare consists of dirty rice, bbq chicken, fried fish, and steamed veggies. You're also provided a single ration of water per person - no more than 12 ounces. A serious gripe we had with the excursion, aside from the poor service, was the lack of drinking water. If you were thirsty, you had to buy water if you didn't bring your own. After a good lunch, we made our way down to the underwater park to find that it was, disappointingly, closed. A bummer, we had to snorkel the murky swimming area instead - nearly void of marine life. While we had some issues with Pearl Island - swimming with the pigs was a blast, and we had a great day either way. The experience was worth the time and money and we're certainly happy we got to do it. Hope you all enjoyed the video! Be sure to stay tuned for more cruise content!
