عدم الوفاء بالوعد له عندما رأى رسول اللّٰه ﷺ إحدى الأمهات تنادي على ابنها وتقول: تعالَ أعطك فقال لها: ما أردت أن تعطيه؟ فقالت: أردت أن أعطيه تمرًا. فقال لها: لو لم تعطه لكتبت عليك كذبة. وبعض الآباء والأمهات يعدون أبناءهم: تعال، ولن أضربك، ثم يأتي ويُضرب. إذا نجحت سوف أشتري لك دراجة، ثم لا يرى الدراجة، ويسمع من أبويه: وهل نجحت لنا؟ أنت نجحت لنفسك. ولهؤلاء نقول بأن هو ليس من الأدب الإسلامي، وليس من السلوك التربوي السليم إن نعد أبناءنا ونخلف معهم.. The Impact of Broken Promises on Children When the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ saw a mother calling her child and saying, “Come, and I will give you something,” he asked her, “What did you intend to give him?” She replied, “A date.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “Had you not given him anything, it would have been recorded as a lie against you.” Yet some parents make promises to their children and fail to keep them. They say, “Come here, I won’t hurt you,” and then do the opposite. Or they promise, “If you succeed, I’ll buy you a bicycle,” only for the child to discover that the promise was never meant to be fulfilled. Later, the child hears, “Did you succeed for us? You succeeded for yourself.” Such behavior is neither consistent with Islamic manners nor with sound parenting.
