He is the mastermind behind a massive new cultural project located in the harbor of Skagen, Denmark's northernmost town. The Incredible Discovery: During a journey to Madeira, Henning Kjeldsen discovered a truly unique collection, built over a lifetime by the Portuguese physician João Mendes De Almeida. The collection includes everything within vintage cars, motorcycles, classic signs, and model cars. For decades, it was kept entirely private, hidden away in the doctor's anonymous basement garage. What is Maskinrummet? Now, these spectacular treasures are being brought to Denmark. You will soon be able to experience the collection in a magnificent new setting when it opens on June 27, 2026, at Maskinrummet in Skagen. Covering over 10,000 square meters, Maskinrummet is set to become Denmark's largest maritime and engine experience center, showcasing more than 400 historic engines, classic cars, and maritime artifacts.
