They haven't played in Zurich for two years, and now they're packing the Tonhalle twice: An interview with the Swiss-Ecuadorian guitar superstars Hermanos Gutiérrez. Over the past nine years, the brothers have carved their way into the hearts of millions of fans with their consistently stripped-down guitar sound through concerts in Europe and America. In a Sounds! video interview between their Tonhalle shows, the Hermanos reveal how they rose from a Zurich shared apartment to global niche stardom. They also discuss how harmoniously the brothers work offstage and why they would rather travel to Machu Picchu than ever sing on one of their songs. One thing is certain: their sound offers a counterpoint to the mercurial zeitgeist, with almost meditative, spiritual qualities.
