Pico do Alto da Caledônia, Rompendo as Nuvens - Edição Especial

A special edition of the first flight at Pico do Alto da Caledônia, in Nova Friburgo, RJ. On this flight, I break through the clouds from top to bottom and discover a breathtaking landscape. Pico do Alto da Caledônia is one of Nova Friburgo's landmarks, offering beautiful views of the entire city, from the city center to the neighborhoods of Mury, Jardim D. João VI, Jardim Imperial, Braunes, Cônego, Cascatinha, and others, as well as the other mountains of Nova Friburgo. From the top, you can see Pedra do Imperador, Baixo Caledônia, Catarinas, Morro da Cruz, Duas Pedras, Pedra do Porchelet, the Três Picos de Salinas, among others, and also the distant peak of Morro São José, an extinct volcano near the sea, between Unamar (Cabo Frio) and Rio das Ostras, and the rocks of Pedra de Uriri, near Rio das Ostras, both about 65 km away, as well as Unamar, Rio das Ostras and the Atlantic Ocean. You can see Rio de Janeiro, Baixada Fluminense, Itaboraí, São Gonçalo and Niterói from the top of the peak, when open to visitors and on days with good weather (unfortunately, due to the pandemic, visits to the peak were closed at the time of this filming). The Alto da Caledônia Peak is one of the highest peaks in the Serra do Mar Mountains, part of the Três Picos State Park, located between the municipalities of Cachoeiras de Macacu and Nova Friburgo, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. In addition to its main peak at 2,257 meters, it has two other peaks, each 2,234 meters and 2,255 meters high. The Caledônia Massif was formed during the Cambrian period, approximately 542 to 488 million years ago, which led to the formation of the highly resistant rocks that comprise it.
