BANDARLAMPUNG (June 15, 2026) – Hundreds of students from the Lampung Alliance for Withdrawing Mandates held a demonstration in front of the Lampung Provincial Government Office Complex on Monday, June 15, 2026. The protesters clashed with police before delivering their six demands. The student demonstration began at 11:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. Students from various universities in Lampung wore their respective university uniforms and waved the Indonesian flag and their organization's flags. As they arrived in front of the Provincial Government Office, they were met with tight police security and barbed wire. This situation disappointed the protesters, who attempted to break through the security cordon. The situation became tense when several students became involved in arguments and a tense standoff with the Bandarlampung Police Chief. The students demanded the demonstration take place within the Governor's Office so that their demands would be directly addressed by the Lampung Provincial Government. The Lampung Alliance to Withdraw Mandates (Aliansi Lampung Tarik Mandat) presented six demands, including making education a priority program and realizing free education, lowering the prices of basic necessities and fuel, ending the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program and the Red and White Village Cooperative. The protesters also demanded a revision of the National Police Law, an end to militarism, and the implementation of wealth tax regulations. They also demanded the enforcement of human rights.
