The March for Life was held on the 17th day of the Life Vigil, which was initiated in Samandağ, Hatay, to address the debris being dumped in living spaces. Political parties and civil society organizations (NGOs) gathered in Abdullah Cömert Park in Samandağ, holding signs reading "The massacre is still continuing" and "We want to live humanely." Yusuf Kimyon, a parliamentary candidate for the Green Left Party, also joined the march. Holding a banner reading "We are not leaving. We are defending life against the rubble," the march continued to the Samandağ Cultural Center, chanting slogans such as "We will win by resisting" and "Defend life against the rubble." THEY FORCED THE POLICE TO STEP BACK The crowd arriving at the AFAD Coordination Center located in the Cultural Center was blocked by police and shields. Police attacked the crowd who demanded the police remove their shields. Police fired tear gas into the faces of the marchers from a close distance. The crowd resisted the police attack by kicking the shields. When the crowd refused to back down, the police retreated 50 meters.
