The Rain Ruined Our Plans… But We Still Made PROGRESS

The rain pretty much wrecked our weekend plans… but we still found a way to move the homestead forward. We were hoping to get a lot more done for the garden irrigation system, but the weather had other ideas. Even with rain all weekend, we were still able to get our garden IBC tote repositioned, leveled, and filled so we can finally start the next phase: building the pump house and running irrigation lines out to our raised beds. This has been one of those homestead projects that sounds simple until you actually have to figure out the best way to do it. Watering the garden has been an ongoing challenge, so this weekend was really about finally starting the process of solving that problem — even if the rain kept us from getting as far as we wanted. Sometimes off-grid progress is not flashy.
