Firewire Tomo Revo Review: Is It REALLY the Evolution of the Evo? I've owned a Tomo Evo for years and absolutely loved it. So when I heard Firewire had stopped making the Evo and replaced it with the Revo, I had to try it! I've had a few surfs on the Revo now, and here are my thoughts... The Revo is definitely fast—like, really fast. It doesn't go as well as the Evo in tiny waves, but anything above waist high, and it flies. The Revo feels like the Evo's more high-performance cousin. The Revo features a new V-quad concave bottom contour that is designed to provide more lift and speed than the traditional quad inside single concave found on the Evo. The Revo is best surfed with a quad-fin setup. The Revo paddles well and catches waves easily due to the volume distribution. You can size up the Revo a little more than you would normally size a surfboard.
