Oral Tradition as a Learning Path in Flamenco Families: The Family of Tío Juane By Pedro Garrido “Niño de la Fragua” Oral Tradition as a Learning Path in Flamenco Families: The Family of Tío Juane is a case study undertaken by this Jerez-born flamenco master and singer to complete his postgraduate studies. This work has marked his vocation and specialization in flamenco research. Driven by his own curiosity and a strong motivation to understand his own learning processes, he has made this research the foundation of his doctoral thesis, and in this presentation, he will share the key insights and conclusions he has reached. In general terms, the lecture consists of an in-depth examination of oral tradition as a means of transmitting and preserving flamenco, focusing on the family that nurtured him from birth and where he absorbed the philosophy of life that flamenco embodies, beyond its performance and its international reach.
