And they just had a baby girl, and SHE WAS BORN ON 2-1-13!!!!!!! I kid you not. She is of course, the chosen one... Also, yeah, that's my friend Jess Kilgannon that I convinced to sing on a cover with me once I heard she could sing and knew the harmonies to almost every Coheed song already. Having all these Coheed friends together in one place, playing their music, and sharing the love of the band was amazing! This one has been a dream of mine for awhile, to take a vocal heavy track off of Good Apollo 1 and do all 4 voices live! Finally got the right friends together at the right time, and only had a couple of hours to pull it off. I only used 2 stereo microphones to catch everything, which created some trickiness in the editing process, but I finally was able to separate and enhance everything to my liking. I also transcribed out the bass and lead guitar parts for cello and violin as well, finally implementing Travis's parts like I had always wanted to, and the result was beyond what I had expected. Stripping down their music acoustic like this and transcribing it myself gives me a whole new dimension of appreciation of the innate compositional genius of Claudio and this band! This one was a serious labor of love, and took a lot of effort both to set up and finish, but this has me excited for future large-scale projects!
