Travel vlog #35 | Girne, Northern Cyprus| Filmed February-March 2022 Cyprus is a tadpole-shaped island in the Eastern Mediterranean that has been a stepping stone between Africa, the Middle East, and Europe for thousands of years. For the past 48 years, it has been divided between the Republic of Cyprus in the South and the de facto Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Officially an Occupied Territory, Northern Cyprus is only recognized by Türkiye and is dependent on it for its continued existence. It was fascinating to explore this country that's not a country, and we learned a lot in the process.
