Inside Climate-Responsive Homes on a Shared Family Site in Kochi | Home Tour | @ArchPro
Homes are designed as compositions. Metaspace, led by Jacob George, designed this Kerala residence as a system that can be taken apart and rebuilt. Take the full home tour. The project began as a personal experiment in architectural logic, testing whether a home could be built entirely around repeatable modules rather than conventional construction intuition. The result is a 2,370 sq.ft residence structured on an 8’×4’ grid, where walls, glazing, and even spatial planning follow a single dimensional rule. This approach reduces waste, simplifies future modification, and turns flexibility into the central design principle rather than an afterthought. That system extends into how the house behaves. Large sliding panels allow entire walls to disappear, transforming rooms into open pavilions that merge with the landscape. Deep verandahs and shaded edges provide passive climatic control, while a restrained material palette of wood, shade netting, and simple finishes ensures the architecture remains calm, functional, and adaptable over time.
