In the Kanto region, due to the influence of humid air, "guerrilla thunderstorms" occurred in various locations today. At JR Ueno Station, rain was beating down heavily on the roofs of trains. Reporter: "Large raindrops have started to fall." On the highway, cars were driving through, kicking up large splashes of water. This sidewalk was flooded by the heavy rain. Damage from water entering buildings also occurred. The heavy rain also affected transportation. The Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line, which connects Tokyo and Kanagawa, temporarily suspended service in both directions. The Japan Meteorological Agency issued "Level 4 Heavy Rain Danger Warnings" for parts of Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Chiba starting shortly after 11:00 AM. "Level 4 Landslide Danger Warnings" were also issued for parts of Kanagawa. The government is urging residents to complete evacuations while the warning is still at Level 4 (equivalent to a "danger alert"). Evacuation orders have been issued by local governments in Yokohama City and parts of Ichikawa and Matsudo cities in Chiba Prefecture. In the Kanto region, there is a risk of heavy rainfall that could cause road flooding in a very short period of time, and vigilance is also required against strong winds such as tornadoes.
